Motives Cosmetics

Hello gorgeous , thank you for taking a look at this blog post! It's been too long since I last posted and that was because I went to London to spend some time with my family who live there still; it was lovely seeing all my family there and spending time with them!

This post however isn't about my london trip , as you can tell from the title it's about Motives cosmetics by Loren Ridinger!! I'm so excited to tell you my first impression on trying their products.

So this company is huge in America and is currently becoming well known in the U.K. for their chic, high quality products. I  had heard of Motives cosmetics through MUAs on YouTube and particularly loved the look of the eyeshadows, however I assumed that I cannot purchase these in the U.K. Thankfully I was contacted my a Motives beauty adviser called Lisa who works for the company , inviting me to sample their products . Lisa was a stunning lady and I'm very thankful she informed me that they have a website you can order from and the shipping usually takes about two days!

Down to the juicy bit, did I think their products were fabulous? Yes !! I honestly was blown away by how gorgeous their products are , not only by the packaging but the quality too!

Look at their skincare range , the packaging is beautiful ! They have a whole range of skincare products that help to rejuvenate, soothe, moisturise and protect your precious skin.

These are pictures from the catalogue she gave me and I now wish I had took a picture of the products when I was sampling them , but that is the packaging of the single eyeshadows , sleek black with a see- through frosty top... Very ideal for us makeup artists so you can see which colour you need straight away rather than rummaging through all the colours ! The eyeshadows were honestly so creamy and very  pigmented , I fell in love with this green shade called Green Apple, it was very unique and I have never seen a shade quite like it before! They have a variety of colours for you to experiment with , matte or shimmery , there's something for everyone no matter what look your going for!

Lisa so generously sent me their new Mavens Element Color Box palette that I fell in love with when searching the shadows , believe me it's gorgeous, I even created a look with it to show you!

Names of the shadows from left to right :

Top row:
• Birch
• Native
• Aubergine
• Raven

Bottom row:
• Shell
• Serene
• Bordeaux
• Truffle

My first impression just by looking at the palette was unique ! It has the most stunning unique shades in which intrigued me. The size of the pans too also amazed me as they remind me of the Anastasia Beverly Hills single shadows , they are typically larger compared to single shadows from popular places like Mac, Urban Decay etc ...

As you can see from the picture , they're so pigmented ! The top row are matt shades and the bottom row are shimmer / sheen... I love the fact the two bottom shades in the left corner can actually be used as skin highlighters , the lightest shimmer one is called shell and that is what I used as my cheekbone highlighter ! The second darkest one called serene would be beautiful as a highlighter for darker skintones than me . The palette deserves top marks from me ,I  love a universal product , it's not only handy when I'm feeling lazy but of course handy when I'm on a makeup job!

To achieve this lovely rosey eye , I used the matte cream shade birch for my brow bone highlight , I think a matte brow bone highlight is much more appropriate for the day time, I'd go for the shimmer highlighter for a night out .

I then used native in my crease for my transition colour , I must say this could replace my Transition shade Ive been using for years called Wedge From Mac as this formula is so creamy and blendable !

The second shimmer shade serene was pact on all over my lid, I made sure I did not go any higher than my crease.

I then used my favourite shade Bordeaux on the outer part of my eye and in the crease to add depth and definition. I smoked this out with a blending brush.

That is exactly how I achieved my look using this palette ! This is only one look of many that you could create with the palette and I would highly recommend this to anybody!

I hope you liked this blog post guys , I absolutely LOVE discovering new brands and trying their products , I look forward too trying many of their other products as there's such a huge range . Feel free to let me know what you think and thank you again for reading my blog ️xxx
